 DivisionLeague Age* Description
Tee Ball4-5The tee ball division is for new players to begin establishing a solid foundation of baseball. Players learn the fundamentals of baseball and youth sports team activities, including: learning positions, fielding, throwing, base running, and hitting off of a fixed tee at home plate. Coaches are always on the field providing instruction.
** Volunteers Needed **
A-Ball -
Coach Pitch
5-6Players will continue to develop their fundamental skills on a smaller field. Coaches will pitch to the players on one knee ~35 feet from home plate. Players should show the ability to catch a thrown ball at times and be comfortable swinging the bat decisively. Most rules of the game will start being applied at this level. Coaches will remain in the field to provide instruction.
** Volunteers Needed **
AA Rookies -
Machine/Player Pitch
6-9Players should be comfortable throwing, catching and batting the ball in play most of the time. The games will utilize a pitching machine and introduce player pitch at the 4th game.

Age 7-8: Appropriate for new and experienced players.
Age 9: Restricted to first-time players only. 1+ season 9 year olds must play AAA Minors.
AAA Minors -

Our main emphasis in this division is to develop baseball knowledge, skills and the first throwing and hitting experience at Kid Pitch.
Majors11-12Competitive play with player pitch. Game play follows a 46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths.
For teams and players in this league, it is very important to coordinate and recruit players and teams to fill the league.  All players will be drafted onto teams.

*League Age Determination

**SLL is urgently seeking team managers for this division.  If you feel you can offer knowledge and structure for this age group please indicate when registering. Our league offers a coaching coordinator to assist with lessons and drills to make practice fun but educational.  A league official will reach out to discuss in more detail when you register to volunteer.  The more volunteers we have, the more these players will benefit.

Starkey Little League has suspended our softball divisions until further notice.
